Compass torsion meter

Compass torsion meter NMG D-K is used for torsion measurements in vertical boreholes, e.g. grooved inclinometer tubes. This is done in order to check that the tube has not been twisted unintentionally and to avoid the measurements taken by, for example, inclinometers, being incorrect.

The sounder is built up around a precision magnetometer that uses the earth’s magnetic field to check the torsion. Once the degree of torsion has been determined the inclinometer measurement direction can be easily compensated.
